Ideas Opened in 2007. We reside in a building that has had many
incarnations over the past 90 years. Some of those were a barber
shop, dance studio, tavern, craft shop, more recently a retro shop.
Sugar Creek is a small community with a rich history. Many
residents were born and raised in the area and now their children live
here as well as the grand children. We have a small town feeling
even though we have Kansas City to the West and Independence to the
East. Across the street is the Sugar Creek Historical Society which is open Tuesdays and Saturday. Nextdoor is Ernies steak house and Kross's Lounge. Daily specials for lunch and dinner. Great Veggie Bloody Mary's, Taco Thursdays, and $1.00 Pints of Miller High Life. The motto of our city is "Come Live the Sweet Life", in Sugar Creek. We are 20 minutes from downtown Kansas City East of 435. Made in America is important to us. The Rustic Bean candles and Le Fleur Cottage Soaps are made by ladies who live in the surrounding areas of Kansas City. Poopourri, Twisted Pepper, Chilly Jillys, and Harvest Candles are made in the U.S. and we carry Leanin Tree cards along with Snafu greeting cards. The greeting cards are laugh out loud greetings. Suite Ideas is not an Antique Store but we do have some old furniture and vintage linens, hats, jewelry, pottery and glassware. I search flea markets, auctions, and estate sales to bring treasures to those who don't have the time or desire to get dirty or spend and entire day bidding on finds (sometimes getting more than I want). There is a good mix of old and new. If you need a gift, or a treat for yourself, there's a good chance that you can find it here. If not, there's always that free sample of FUDGE! That's always a good choice for a gift. During the summer we are open Tuesday-Friday 11:00 to 6:00 and Saturdays 11:00 to 4:00. Fall hours are Tuesday-Friday 3:00 to 6:00 and Saturday hours are the same. Maggi is a photographer, so when school is in session that's why I'm not in the shop. During the holidays November thru January the hours go back to 11:00 to 6:00 Tuesday-Friday. |
